#NJCAAReplay Game of the Week: Sept. 24
2019 NJCAA DIII Softball Championship set to air this Thursday on the NJCAA Network!
On Thursday, Sept. 24, the NJCAA Network, the new home for NJCAA digital content will replay the 2019 NJCAA DIII Softball Championship, highlighting Rock Valley (IL) and Herkimer (NY). The title game led to Rock Valley capturing a sixth consecutive national championship, setting a new record for the most consecutive national titles across all three NJCAA divisions.
The Golden Eagles struck first with four runs in the fourth inning to produce an early lead on the Generals. Sophomore Breanna Crown of Rock Valley, Pitcher of the Tournament and Most Valuable Player, propelled the Golden Eagles with a dominant effort in the circle to lead to another national title. In the earlier rounds of the tournament, Rock Valley outlasted Brookedale (NJ) and Herkimer, runners-up for the second consecutive year, to ultimately win the national championship with an overall 57-13 record, the program's third consecutive 50-win season. The 2019 contest marked the sixth time the two powerhouses have met for a national title in the last seven seasons.
The Rock Valley and Herkimer matchup is the second of the reoccurring NJCAA Replay Game of the Week, featuring one flashback game every Thursday night on the NJCAA Network.
