The NJCAA appoints Dr. Dan Kinney Chair of the NJCAA Presidential Advisory Council (PAC)
Charlotte, NC – The NJCAA has appointed Dr. Dan Kinney, President of Iowa Central, Chair of the NJCAA Presidential Advisory Council (PAC). Kinney represents the Central District which is comprised of NJCAA Regions 4, 11, 16, and 24 on the NJCAA Board of Regents and has been President at Iowa Central since 2009.
"We look forward to having Dr. Kinney as the chair to lead and serve not only this council but our membership," stated Dr. Christopher Parker, NJCAA President & CEO. "Dr. Kinney's dedication to our association and his knowledge as President and former athletic director equips him with the necessary tools for success."
Within the NJCAA Presidential Advisory Council, Kinney is a resource for other Presidents and works closely to coincide with the mission of the NJCAA. "The PAC has taken the NJCAA to new heights," stated Kinney. "We are here to support the NJCAA National Office staff with their initiatives and ideas by acting as a sounding board. I'm looking forward to serving in this position and am going to continue the encouragement of dialogue among member colleges and their Presidents. After all, how we do things at Iowa Central may be different than at other institutions, but we share common goals and the committee can help achieve those."
Kinney relieves former PAC Chair Dr. Margaret McMenamin of Union County (NJ) and the Northeast District. "We appreciate Dr. McMenamin's commitment to serving as past Chair and all the endeavors implemented to move the association forward," Parker added. "We are excited for this transition and to see all that Kinney accomplishes in his new role."
Kinney's additional involvement at the local and national level includes Chairman of Iowa Association of Community College Presidents, Board member of St. Edmonds Catholic Schools, Board member of the Iowa BioTech Association, and Rural Iowa Development Council member. Kinney's intercollegiate involvement stems from early participation within athletic student services and his role as an athletic director.
Kinney received his Associate of Arts degree from Coffeyville (KS), a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management from Pittsburg State University (KS), a Master of Science in Higher Education Administration from the University of Kansas, and a Doctorate of Education in Leadership and Higher Education Administration from the University of Arkansas.
