Samaritan's Feet teams up with #NJCAADay

Charlotte, NC – The NJCAA has teamed up with Samaritan's Feet, a nonprofit organization that strives to provide shoes for impoverished children around the world to host a shoe drive as part of the association's upcoming #NJCAADay on Thursday, Oct. 17

Based out of Charlotte, NC, Samaritan's Feet was founded in 2003 by Manny Ohonme, a former NJCAA student-athlete. Since the organization's inception, Samaritan's Feet has distributed over seven million pairs of shoes to 108 countries and 395 U.S. cities.

"The NJCAA is thrilled to partner with Mr. Ohonme and Samaritan's Feet," stated Chris Parker, NJCAA President and CEO. "As a former NJCAA student-athlete, Mr. Ohonme's passion for making a difference is what #NJCAADay is truly about. The impact Samaritan's Feet has made globally is remarkable, and the NJCAA is looking forward to contributing to their mission on October 17."

A native of Nigeria, Ohonme earned a basketball scholarship to attend Lake Region State (ND) where he was inducted into the school's Hall of Fame in 2016. Ohonme furthered his education at Concordia College and received a Master's degree from North Dakota State University.

To partner with the NJCAA, Samaritan's Feet has created a Shoe Drive that is available to the public. Interested donors have the opportunity to contribute shoes to children in need throughout the week leading up to #NJCAADay. To make a direct donation, visit: #NJCAADay Shoe Drive
