DIII women's tennis championship moves to spring in 2023

Charlotte, NC - Following the 2022 NJCAA Convention held in Birmingham, AL, from April 11-15, the NJCAA Board of Regents passed a number of amendments to enhance the national championship experience.

The NJCAA Men's and Women's Tennis Committees approved a proposal to move Division III Women's Tennis to a spring championship season sport.  Beginning with the 2022-23 academic year, the DIII women's tennis national tournament will be held in conjunction with the NJCAA DIII Men's Tennis Championship in May.  The change will allow for an increased number of participants at one location, enhance cost-effectiveness for participating teams and the host, and enhance the overall championship experience for student-athletes.  There will be no DIII women's tennis championship held in the fall of 2022.  Instead, the championship will take place in the spring of 2023 in conjunction with the men's tournament.
