Brenham, TX: Blinn (TX) head volleyball coach Terry Gamble led the Buccaneers to a 3-0 win over Lee (TX) to become the third NJCAA Volleyball coach to win 1,000 games in a career. Gamble is the only active coach with more than 900 wins, is the third NJCAA volleyball coach to surpass 1,000 career wins, and has a career NJCAA win percentage of 83.7%.
Gamble has been the head coach at Blinn for the last seven seasons and has reached the national tournament over the previous four seasons. Before Blinn, Gamble was the head coach of NCAA Jacksonville State University and took the Gamecocks to three conference tournaments. He also spent four seasons at McNeese State University (LA), one season at Midland University, and as an assistant coach at Texas Tech in 2009.
Within the NJCAA, Gamble was the head coach at Iowa Western and led the Reivers to their first volleyball national championship in school history in 2006. Iowa Western defeated Western Nebraska in a five-set match to win the title. Gamble was also the head coach at St. Clair County Community College from 1999 to 2004 and won two national titles.
In addition, Gamble has been named NJCAA Coach of the Year three times and was inducted into the NJCAA Volleyball Coaches Association Hall of Fame in 2007.
