Rock Valley Metts' named NJCAA Division III Volleyball Player of the Year

Charlotte, NC - Rock Valley's Addison Metts has been named the 2021-22 NJCAA Division III Player of the Year, presented by the Marines. The freshman outside hitter led the nation in kills (620) and was second in the nation with 4.66 kills per set. The Golden Eagles were one of the best offensive teams in the nation, and Metts was a big reason why. Metts was top-5 in the nation in many offensive categories, including leading the nation in points and fifth in the nation in hitting percentage. While being a strong offender, Metts was also strong at the net on defense. The freshman blocked 58 attacks on the year, including 51 solo blocks.

Metts led the Golden Eagles to the No. 1 ranking, No. 1 overall seed in the NJCAA Division III National Tournament where they would finish as the runner-up in a thriller. In the championship game, the freshman logged a game-high 32 kills on a .253 hitting percentage.  Metts was named to the NJCAA Division III All-Tournament team following her performance throughout the tournament.
