Charlotte, NC - College of Southern Idaho standout Airi Miyabe has been named the 2018 Tachikara NJCAA Division I Volleyball Player of the Year.  

The sophomore outside hitter led the Golden Eagles to two NJCAA DI Volleyball Championship tournament appearances in her tenure.  Southern Idaho finished as the national runner up in 2017, before winning the championship title in 2018.  Miyabe leaves her mark on the Southern Idaho record books, landing sixth in Golden Eagle volleyball career kills and fourth in career kills per set. 

Southern Idaho's 2018 national tournament title marks the 12th in school history.  At the 2018 NJCAA DI Volleyball Championship in Hutchinson, KS, Miyabe tallied a season-high 28 kills in their four-set, quarterfinal victory.  She led all players at the national tournament in overall kills and kills per set, finishing with 81 kills and 5.79 kills per set.
