Charlotte, NC – The NJCAA has announced two honorees to be inducted into the NJCAA Women's Soccer Coaches Association Hall of Fame. The honorees include Jo Ann Todaro from Prince George's and William G Rich from SUNY Broome.
Jo Ann Todaro | Contributor | Prince George's (MD)
Jo Ann Todaro has been serving as the Athletic Director of Prince Goerge's Community College since 2004. Under her leadership, the Owls have won 23 NJCAA Region 20 Championships, one NJCAA Division III National Runner-up, and made numerous appearances in several NJCAA National Championships. As Athletic Director Todaro has emphasized student-athletes and academic and as a result has had 124 NJCAA All-Americans.
From a national level, Todaro has served on numerous NJCAA Committees including DI Women's Soccer, DIII Women's Volleyball, Dand chaired the committee from 2003-2004 and also served as the Coaches Association President from 1997-2003. Todaro has chaired multiple committees over the years including DI Women's Soccer, Bowling, and DIII Sport Districting. Within the NJCAA she has contributed as the NJCAA Region 20 Assistant Women's Director, NJCAA Region 20 Women's Director, and NJCAA Board of Regents member.
Due to her contributions, Todaro has received several awards including Maryland Junior College Athletic Conference Athletic Director of the Year in 2006, 2008, and 2012, NISOA/NSCAA Charles Lee Merit Award, NJCAA Region 20 Carol Eustis Athletic Director of the Year, and Prince George's Community College President of Excellence Award in 2024. She is also the 2018 recipient of the Mary Ellen Leicht Service Award and the 2022 George Killian Award of Excellence.
Bill Rich | Coach | SUNY Broome (NY)
Bill Rich was the head women's soccer coach for SUNY Broome for 25 years. During his career at SUNY Broome, he had a record of 353-90-15. Throughout his career, he led the Hornets to three NJCAA National Championships, five Regional Championships, two Indoor National Championships, two NYS West State Cup Championships, 16 Conference Championships, and 25 consecutive winning regular seasons. Rich also led SUNY Broome to its first National Championship in 2007.
Rich was named National Coach of the Year in 2007, All Region Coach of the Year eight times, and MSAC Conference Coach of the Year 14 times. He is the winningest Division III women's soccer coach and the third winningest NJCAA women's soccer coach among all divisions. With a coaching career that spans over 52 years, Rich has an overall coaching record of 683-178-27 and in 2023 was inducted into the Greater Binghamton Sports Hall of Fame.
In 2005 Rich founded the Hornets Soccer Camp, a youth camp used to train hundreds of local youths with opportunities to improve their skills. He is known for his community service efforts and in his last three years as head coach the Hornets women's soccer team raised over $14,000 for the American Cancer Society.
