Charlotte, NC – Iowa Western redshirt freshman guard McKenna Minter has been named the 2023-24 NJCAA Division II Women's Basketball Player of the Year.
Minter was a crucial part of the Reivers' best season in school history, leading the team in scoring with 20.2 points per game, assists (208), steals (76), and defensive rebounds (225). McKenna set the Iowa Western record for assists in a season and tied the record for assists in a game with 15. The Reivers guard also recorded 14 double-doubles and 2 triple-doubles which is the most since the 2011-2012 season.

Her hard work and leadership carried our program to the best season in school history, which led to her breaking multiple school records while helping the team reach a top-5 national ranking, said Iowa Western head coach Mitch Rolls. McKenna Minter was among the nations best in DII Women's Basketball when it comes to points (746, 1st), field goals made (278, 1st), assists (208, 2nd), and free throw made (181, 2nd).
