Louisburg's Tucker named DII Player of the Year

Charlotte, NC - Louisburg (NC) sophomore Brianna Tucker has been named the 2023 NJCAA DII Softball Player of the Year.

Tucker had a stellar season for the Hurricanes, making her presence known at the plate and in the field. The second-year shortstop led the nation in numerous offensive statistical categories, including home runs (46), RBIs (107), total bases (260), and slugging percentage (1.383). She was also second in runs (122), and third in hits (98). In the infield, she boasted an impressive .941 fielding percentage. 

Her all-around efforts propelled the Hurricanes to their fifth-consecutive national championship appearance.

On top of this prestigious honor, Tucker was also named the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Division II Player of the Year.
