Donjuan tabbed latest NJCAA Tennis CA HOF member

Charlotte, NC - Men's tennis coach Jaime Donjuan has been recognized for his outstanding service to the NJCAA and its student-athletes and has been enshrined into the NJCAA Men's Tennis Coaches Association Hall of Fame 2022 class. See below for more on Donjuan's involvement and accolades.


Jaime Donjuan | Laredo College (TX)

In the fall of 1997, Laredo (TX) hired Jamie Donjuan as an assistant tennis coach before being appointed as the head coach in 1998. Donjuan has coached the men's teams to seven total national championships, including six straight between 2005 and 2010, and has coached 57 NJCAA All-Americans. In addition, he has coached a top-100 Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) and one student-athlete who participated in the Davis Cup. 

Donjuan has been awarded many tennis coaching awards over the course of his career as a result of his dedication to the sport and 24 years of service. Donjuan has helped his teams excel both on and off the court to unbelievable heights while at the direction of the college,  including success in the classroom with teams earning a 3.25 or greater GPA consecutively. The coach was awarded the President's Excellence Award in 2000 and was named the ITA Wilson Coach of the Year twice (2004, 2010). In addition, he was named the NJCAA Max Grubbs Coach of the Year seven times, each during his men's national championship campaigns. Six of Laredo's student-athletes became the No. 1 ITA player in singles, while five reached the ITA No. 1 ranking in doubles. 

Coach Donjuan has made an impact within the Laredo community and beyond. He has assisted in running USTA tournaments with the Laredo Tennis Association and hosted the ITA regional tournaments in 1999, 2000, 2009, 2010, 2011, and 2012. Beyond tennis, he has volunteered at local homeless, Veteran, and dog shelters within the Laredo community.
