Charlotte, NC - The NJCAA will not host a national championship in the sport of Division III men's and women's tennis during the 2020-21 academic year. With the 2020-21 season permitted to begin competition last month, few teams expressed an intent to participate in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Postseason competition in DIII men's and women's tennis will still be permitted, up to the region level. All NJCAA Division III men's and women's tennis programs will be permitted to compete at the Division I level for the 2020-21 season if they wish to pursue competition at the district and national levels. Any programs wishing to compete at the Division I men's or women's tennis level during the 2020-21 academic year must notify Rod Lovett, NJCAA Director of Championships & Sports by March 1, 2021.
The NJCAA is committed to resuming hosting championship events for Division III men's and women's tennis during the 2021-22 academic year. The 2021 NJCAA DIII Women's Tennis Championship is scheduled for October 29-31, 2021 at the Peachtree City Tennis Center in Peachtree City, GA. The 2022 NJCAA DIII Men's Tennis Championship is scheduled for May 13-15, 2022 at the Roger M. Nichols Tennis Complex in Greeneville, TN.
