Stout Inducted into NJCAA Swimming and Diving Hall of Fame

Charlotte, NC – The NJCAA announced the induction of Steve Stout into the NJCAA Swimming and Diving Coaches Association Hall of Fame.

Steve Stout devoted 15 years to the Ocean County College swimming programs. From 2000 to 2015, Stout was instrumental in the Vikings' success, winning nearly 85 percent of their dual meets. Stout coached over 100 swimmers to qualify for the NJCAA Swimming and Diving Championships. His student-athletes broke eight school records and three facility records. Stout guided over 40 student-athletes to NJCAA All-America Honorable Mention status and five NJCAA All-Americans. Under the direction of Stout, Ocean County won the 2009 Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving Non-Scholarship National Championship, which was the first and only swimming title in school history.

Prior to coaching at Ocean County, Stout swam collegiately for the University of Pittsburgh and North Carolina State University. He earned a B.S. in Health and Physical Education from The College of New Jersey in 2000 and a M.A. in Educational Leadership from Kean University in 2007. Stout currently serves as the Dean of Discipline and Driver's Education and Physical Education teacher for the Central Regional School District while coaching swimming and softball.
