Charlotte, NC – The NJCAA has announced the host sites for the upcoming NJCAA Division III Men's Basketball Championships in 2026, 2027, and 2028.
Herkimer College will host the four-day championship on its campus in Herkimer, NY from March 11-14, 2026, and March 8-11, 2028.
"Herkimer County Community College is honored once again to be selected by the NJCAA in hosting the NJCAA Division III Men's Basketball National Championship in 2026 and 2028." said Donnie Dutcher, Dean of Students/Director of Athletics. "We look forward to delivering an outstanding experience for all the student athletes, coaches, and supporters who make this event special. It's a privilege to have our campus and community at the forefront of such an important national event."
Herkimer previously hosted the 2023 and 2024 NJCAA DIII Men's Basketball Championships. The Generals have a rich history of hosting NJCAA championship events including hosting Division III Soccer, Softball, and Men's and Women's Lacrosse national tournaments for several years.
Rochester MN Sports will host the national tournament at the Regional Sports Center in Rochester, MN, from March 10-13, 2027.
"Rochester MN Sports, in partnership with the Rochester Community and Technical College, are thrilled to be hosting the NJCAA DIII Men's Basketball Championship again in 2027," said Linsy Funk, Senior Manager of Events and Operations. "Rochester Sports has a long-standing history of hosting NJCAA DIII Championships and are honored to be able to continue that partnership. These events are a privilege for our city and our staff strive to provide an outstanding experience for the teams that will come to compete here."
Rochester MN Sports, formerly known as the Rochester Amateur Sports Commission, was formed in 1991 by a core group of business and sports visionaries, with a goal of establishing Rochester as a hub for amateur sports. Through the hosting of major state, regional, and national events, Rochester Sports quickly established itself as one of the premier sport organizations in the country and grew to a staff of five full-time employees who assist to run over 80 events per year.
"The Men's Basketball Committee was pleased to have numerous outstanding candidates to host our DIII Men's Basketball Championship. Herkimer and Rochester were selected as they have demonstrated an ability to provide an outstanding student-athlete experience, combined with first class tournament operations and a strong local interest in the tournament," stated Greg Witkop, NJCAA DIII Men's Basketball Chair. "Both of these hosts have also successfully hosted numerous other championships in the past which helped the committee with our selection."
The 2025 NJCAA Division III Men's Basketball Championship will be held at Herkimer College in Herkimer, NY from March 12-15.
