New York City, NY—The NFL announced the 2025 NFL Pro Bowl Games players for the AFC and NFC. The Pro Bowl Games will occur on February 2, and three former NJCAA student-athletes have earned this distinct honor.
Lane Johnson attended Kilgore (TX) College and played quarterback and tight end for the Rangers. He transferred to Oklahoma and was the practice squad quarterback during a redshirt season. He switched to a tight end and a defensive end in the fall of 2010. After some injuries on the offensive line, Johnson made the switch, and his career changed forever. He became a staple on the Sooners offensive line and was named a third-team All-American by CBS Sports his senior season. The Philadelphia Eagles drafted Johnson with the fourth overall pick in 2013. Throughout his NFL career, Johnson has been named First-Team All-Pro twice, Second-Team All-Pro three times, a six-time pro bowler, and was a member of the Eagles Super Bowl LII team.
Linebacker Andrew Van Ginkel has had a breakout season for the Vikings, holding a career high in sacks and two defensive touchdowns. Van Ginkel started his football career at South Dakota before transferring to Iowa Western for one season, where he finished the year with 50 tackles and 3.5 sacks. After one season as a Reiver, Van Ginkel transferred to Wisconsin, where he spent two seasons as a Badger and was named Third-Team All-Big Ten in 2018. The Iowa native was drafted in the fifth round of the NFL Draft by the Dolphins and played in Miami for five seasons before signing in Minnesota. Van Ginkel was named a Second-Team All-Pro in 2024.
KhaDarel Hodge was named a Pro Bowler for the first time in his NFL career for the Atlanta Falcons. Hodge played one season for Hinds Community College (MS) in 2014 before transferring to Prairie View A&M. Over three seasons, Hodge had 104 catches for 1,797 yards and 21 touchdowns. The Mississippi native has played for the Los Angeles Rams, Cleveland Browns, and Detroit Lions before signing with the Falcons in 2022. He was named the NFC Special Teamer for the Pro Bowl. This season, Hodge scored the game-winning touchdown in Week 5 for the Falcons. A 45-yard strike from Kirk Cousins gave Atlanta its third win. Hodge was also named NFC Special Teams Player of the Week in Week 15 after he blocked one punt and tipped another.
