Charlotte, NC – Southeastern (IA) shortstop Jose Sallorin has been named the 2023 NJCAA Division II Baseball Defensive Player of the Year.
The ICCAC Defensive Player of the Year recipient takes home the award after an impressive season on the diamond, posting a .975 fielding percentage while assisting 151 outs.
"Jose's defensive presence on our team set the tone for a defense that was one of the top (.974 led country NJCAA DII) units in the country. His daily work ethic and energy was rewarded with this prestigious honor." said head coach Justin Schulte.
Jose earned an NJCAA Division II Baseball ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove award and helped the Blackhawks finish as National Runner-up at the World Series.
