
TROY, Ala. - Pasco-Hernando State College defeated Wallace (Ala.) Community College-Dothan, 12-8, on Saturday to sweep the best-of-3 series and win the NJCAA DII South District Championship.

The Bobcats took game one, 6-2, behind another strong outing from Michael Savarese, who improved to 13-0 with the victory.
Savarese scattered five hits and one walk over seven scoreless innings, exiting with a 4-0 lead. He struck out six.
Pasco-Hernando State added two more runs in the eighth.
Wallace-Dothan broke up the shutout bid with a pair of ninth-inning runs.
Bradon Durfee (3-5, 2 R, 2 RBI) and Anthony Cole (2-3, R, 3 RBI) homered for the Bobcats.
On Saturday, Wallace-Dothan took a 1-0 lead after its first at-bat, but the lead was short-lived.
Pasco-Hernando State answered to tie the game in the bottom of the first and grabbed a 2-1 lead an inning later on a sac-fly by Cole.
Up 5-1 in the fourth, rain delayed the game but could not slow down the Bobcats' momentum.
A five-run sixth made the score 10-1, all but deciding the outcome.
