NJCAA teams up with Samaritan's Feet

Charlotte, NC -  The NJCAA has teamed up with Samaritan's Feet to promote Samaritan's Feet Annual Barefoot Coach Awareness during the last two weeks of February. All teams are encouraged to participate and can join coaches across America in this cause.  Coaches around the nation may choose to coach barefoot or dedicate fundraising efforts around a game.

"We are excited to be involved in this nationwide effort and hope to receive heavy participation by our member colleges," stated Dr. Christopher Parker, NJCAA President & CEO. "Addressing this worldwide problem teaches our teams and our community lessons that go beyond the game of basketball."

Manny Ohonme, Co-Founder of Samaritan's Feet, moved from his home in Nigeria to play basketball at NJCAA member college Lake Region State (ND). He went on to receive his Bachelor's degree from Concordia College and Master's degree from North Dakota State University. In 2003, Ohonme and his wife Tracie founded Samaritan's Feet. In October 2016, Ohonme was inducted into the Lake Region Hall of Fame.
