Championship waives qualification standards for 2021

Charlotte, NC - The NJCAA will suspend the qualifying times for the 2021 NJCAA Men's and Women's Swimming & Diving Championships for this year only.  Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, travel restrictions, and the financial status of programs, student-athletes may not have sufficient opportunities to compete in certain swimming or diving events or meets through the regular season. These changes will allow all NJCAA eligible participants to compete at the national meet.

An entry time of "NT" (no time) will be permitted. However, if the swimmer or diver does compete in the event during the regular season, the time or score for that particular swim or diving event must be used as the entry time for the national meet. The time used for entry purposes must be verifiable in the NJCAA Swimming & Diving Top Times Database per NJCAA entry protocols. Any time not verifiable in the database will not be accepted as a valid entry for the competition. The national meet will be seeded according to NCAA and USA Swimming rules and regulations. All NT entry times received for events will be seeded in Hy-Tek's Meet Manager program per normal random meet seeding via the computer program.

All other rules governing the NJCAA Men's and Women's Swimming & Diving Championships will remain in place including the number of permitted events per competitor and the total number of participants allowed per team.

Qualification standards will be enforced to qualify for the national meet in 2022. The 2021 NJCAA Men's and Women's Swimming & Diving Championships will be held at Indian River State College in Fort Pierce, FL from April 28-May 1.
