Garden City, KS- The Busters take game III by a score of 8-4 behind the arm of Brendan Peitsmeyer who went the distance giving up 4 runs on 8 hits. The Busters improve to 43-15 on the year and will advance to the Region VI Championships in Wichita.
Leading the way for the Busters at the plate was Conner Reynolds and CJ Krainock. Both were 2 for 4 from the plate with 2 RBIs and a run. Reynolds did it with a triple and a double and Krainock got the job done with two singles.
Fort Scott was led by Jacob Biller who was 2 for 4 with a run. Behind him was Taylor Fajardo who came in to pinch hit and picked up a solo home run in the top of the 9th.
The Busters will play Cowley County at 7:00 PM Friday against Cowley County. The Tigers were 25-11 in Jayhawk West Play and are 40-16 overall. Cowley defeated Butler Community 15-0 and 11-1 to advance to Wichita. Garden City split with Butler during regular season play.
Garden City advances to the final 8 and will play a double-elimination Tournament for the right to represent Region VI at the NJCAA World Series held in Grand Junction, CO.
