Men’s Basketball Drops to Owls in National Championship Opening Round
HERKIMER, NY… The #9 nationally ranked Genesee Community College men's basketball dropped their first-round matchup in the NJCAA Division III Men's Basketball National Championship 76-66 to the Union College (NJ) Owls on Wednesday night.
Carlos Perez had a team-high 15 points to lead the way for the Cougars. Damont Hanton and Jerry Ortiz each had 12 points apiece. Andre Bowles scored nine points, while Jamai Jackson scored eight points, and Zaphian Scott added four points.
Genesee will be playing the Riverland CC Blue Devils at 11am Thursday in the consolation bracket. The game will be streamed live on the NJCAA Network from Varsity Gymnasium at Herkimer College.
