Paul Cisek named Spalding® DIII Coach of the Year

Colorado Springs, CO – An undefeated run in 2017-18 culminated in the national championship for Paul Cisek and his Brookdale (NJ) Jersey Blues squad. For his efforts, Cisek has been named the 2017-18 Spalding® NJCAA DIII Men’s Basketball Coach of the Year.

Cisek led Brookdale to an unprecedented 34-0 record on the year that was capped by a 70-57 victory over Nassau in the DIII national title game. Brookdale outscored its opponents in the three tournament games by an average of 21.6 points per contest.

With a roster consisting of a strong mix of sophomores and freshman, Cisek’s high-powered offense ranked fifth in the nation with 95.9 points per contest with an average of 25.0 points per game more than its opponents.

Brookdale’s title run comes just one year after the Jersey Blues went 0-3 in the 2016-17 national tournament. Cisek relied on a pair of sophomore All-Americans to guide his team to this year’s title in Jaimik Moore and Grant Goode.
