Mustangs Hang On To Beat Camden 69-68

Montgomery County Community College men's basketball improved to 5-0 as they hung on in overtime to defeat Camden County College 69-68. In a back an fourth game the Mustangs seemed to grab control taking a 59-52 lead with 49 seconds remaining. Camden refused to go away fouling to extend the game and making big shots down the stretch to tie the game 61-61 in regulation. Cris Dinolfi would hit his fourth 3 pointer of the game to give the Mustangs a 64-61 lead but again Camden would find an answer tying the game with 3:43 remaining in overtime. Brandon Bush would split a pair of free throws to give Montco back the lead 65-64. Baasil Saunders recorded his 5th consective double-double grabbing a huge offensive rebound and scoring at the rim to make it 67-64. Camden would answer right back scoring on a layup to cut the Mustangs lead back down to one. On the ensuing possession Baasil Saunders would score on a driving layup to finish with a game high 20 points and put the Mustangs up by three with one minute remaining. Camden would score on a contested jumpshot to cut the lead to 69-68 with 37 seconds remaining and setting up a frantic finish. Camden would choose not to foul and got a stop with 12 seconds remaining and immediately pushed the ball in transition. Jason Price would contest Camden's layup attempt at the rim to force a miss. John Dinolfi would come up with a huge block and Camden would miss a 3 pointer at the buzzer off the deflection to end the game. The Mustangs will be back in action on Tuesday November 28th at 7 pm when they host Thaddeus Stevens.
