
No. 11 Women lose for 1st time
PERKINSTON — No. 11 Mississippi Gulf Coast lost for the first time this season Tuesday, falling 7-2 to No. 12 Jones in MACCC women's tennis action at the MGCCC Tennis Complex.
Bayley Askin (So., St. Martin/St. Martin) won her match at No. 3 singles 6-4, 6-2, and Kendall Burn (Fr., Wiggins/Stone) won 6-1, 6-3 at No. 5 singles.
Burn and Hayden Hensarling (So., Ocean Springs/Ocean Springs) had the closest match in doubles, falling 8-6 at No. 2. Hensarling and Angela Moreno (Fr., Sevilla, Spain/IES V Centenario) lost singles matches in three sets.
Gulf Coast travels to Bay Minette to play Coastal Alabama-South on Thursday. First serves are set for 2 p.m.
