KILGORE -- Sophomore pitcher Britni Hunt hurled a one-hitter en route to a win over the Kilgore Rangers in the first game of a non-conference doubleheader on Saturday afternoon as the Seahawks picked up the 3-1 victory on the road.

Hunt allowed one earned run on one hit, striking out five and walking four in working the complete game victory in the circle. This is her second win in a week after leading the Hawks to their first win of the 2020 campaign in the Sun Chief Classic this past weekend. Hunt now has 39 strikeouts in six appearances for the Seahawks.

While Hunt stymied the Rangers at the plate, freshman catcher Maleia Taylor went to work, going 2 for 3 with a double, a run batted in and a walk in leading the Seahawks' seven-hit performance.

Freshman Grace Coffelt also had two hits, crossing the plate once, while Hunt, Brooke Smith and Miranda Pollock each accounted for the Seahawks' other hits in the game.
