Highlanders finish in second place at Texas Intercollegiate

The McLennan Highlanders opened their fall season at the Texas Intercollegiate, shooting 317-304-299 – 920 to finish in second place.
 
Carmen Gonzalez Lo-A-Njoe shot 75-72-75 – 222 to lead McLennan and finish tied for third place.
 
Other McLennan scores:  Mia Clarke, fifth, 78-73-72 – 223; Shanna Sandoval, 15th, 85-76-80 – 241; Andra Anderson, 20th, 84-83-82 – 249; and Kymbree Larance, 29th, 80-86-100 – 266.
 
Texas Wesleyan A finished in first place with 301-287-295 – 883, and Tyler was third with 311-312-313 – 936.
 
Other team scores: Science & Arts of Oklahoma, fourth, 320-324-324 – 968; Houston-Victoria, fifth, 328-320-329 – 977; Texas Wesleyan, sixth, 335-323-330 – 988; Southwest, seventh, 373-374-385 – 1,132; and Weatherford, eighth, 410-419-412 – 1,241.

McLennan will host the Waco River Classic Sept. 18-19 at Cottonwood Creek Golf Course.
