United Tribes Defeats Miles Community College
Thunderbirds win at home 107-96
United Tribes came out of the gates strong and raced out to a 43-25 lead in the first 11 minutes against the visiting Pioneers of Miles Community College Sunday afternoon at the Thunderdome. The Pioneers closed the half by outscoring the Thunderbirds 31-17 and closed the gap to 60-56 at halftime.
In the second half Tribes stretched the lead to double digits and went on to win 107-96. For the game the Thunderbirds shot 54% from the field, had 27 assists, and outrebounded their opponents 44-31.
Famous Lefthand led the way by shooting 13-20 from the field on his way to a game high 32 points. He added 7 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 steals. Five Thunderbirds scored in double figures. Sylvester Union had 19 points and 4 assists. DK Middleton continued to stuff the stat sheet adding 19 points, 7 rebounds, and a game high 7 assists. Tristin Davis came off the bench and scored 15 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 assists. Tahj Two Bulls added 11.
United Tribes improved its record to 11-4 and face off with Dawson Community College Monday night at home. The women's game tips at 5:30, followed by the men at 7:30.
