Reivers Earn All-Region Recognition as NJCAA Nationals Loom

The Reivers Cross Country teams put up a pair of runner-up finishes over the weekend at the ICCAC Championships in Ft. Dodge.

On the men's side, IWCC grabbed two top-five finishes with Yonas Mogos grabbing the runner-up spot in the race with a time of 25:27.27 and Kassim Kibet finished fifth, just ahead of teammate Wimach Gilo, with a time of 26:12.47.

The women's squad was led by individual champion Faith Linga, besting the runner-up finisher by 26 seconds en route to her second straight individual title at 17:32.53.  Mohussin Abakar was the second Reiver to cross, finishing sixth overall in the competition.

Linga, Mogos and Kibet all earned 1st team honors on the All-Region XI team, while Gilo earned 2nd team honors along with Abakar and Nia Taylor for the women.

The Reivers also earned honorable mention spots for Blayne Lachance for the women and Sammy Hyrdo and Kylan Willis for the men.

The Reivers will return to Ft. Dodge to race for an NJCAA title on November 14th.
