Kanchanaphiboon finishes strong at Rattler Invite
San Antonio, TX-Kanchana Kanchanaphiboon posted a top-40 finish at the 2024 Rattler Invitational at The Dominion Country Club.
The sophomore tallied rounds of 81, 78, and 77 to finish 20-over for the tournament and in 36th place. West Texas A&M's Lorenzi Perini won the individual title at 8-under while the Buffaloes also captured the team championship.
Kanchanaphiboon, who shot a 9-over, 81 during the opening round, shaved three strokes off her score in the second, thanks to three birdies, which included a pair of par 5's that stretched more than 420 yards each. In the final round, the sophomore shook off a bogey and a double on the first two holes to birdie No. 3. She then saved par on five of the next six and dropped another birdie on the treacherous par-5, 455-yard 18th hole.
Freshman, Summer Griffiths tied for 55th place at 37-over, and Daniella Ramos came in 66th.
Garden City is off until March 11 when they play in the Tanklogix Invitational.
