NEWARK, New Jersey ---- The top-ranked Monroe College Mustangs scored three times in the first half to break the game open and defeat the Massasoit men's soccer team, 7-0, in the East District Semifinals on the campus of Rutgers University.

Massasoit concludes the season at 10-7-2, along with claiming its seventh consecutive Region 21 Championship.

The undefeated Mustangs broke the scoreless tie in the 15^th minute and then again in the 16^th. They tacked on a third first half goal in the 35^th minute to take a comfortable 3-0 lead at the break.

The Monroe lead was too much to overcome as Monroe won the match and advanced to the district finals.

David Isaac made nine saves in goal in the loss.

Monroe outshot Massasoit 39-6.
