Make it 8-0 for Gulf Coast

The Mississippi Gulf Coast men's tennis team's superior depth and teamwork paved the way Friday for its eighth straight victory to start 2021. The Bulldogs finished a season sweep of Hinds with a 7-2 win at Raymond.

Gulf Coast swept three doubles matches and claimed four straight-set wins in Nos. 2- 6 singles.

Seth Macute (Fr., Brisbane, Australia/St Joseph's Nudgee College) and Wesley Fontaine (So., Biloxi/Biloxi) won No. 1 doubles 8-6, and Pedro Molero (Fr., Maracaibo, Venezuela/U.E. Instituto Americano Joseph John Thomson) and Clay Fudge (Fr., Madison/Madison Central) won 8-3 at No. 2. Jackson Ward (Fr., Gulfport/Gulfport) and Anderson Dulaney (Fr., Long Beach/Long Beach) breezed to an 8-2 in at No. 3

Fontaine, Fudge, Dulaney and Ward won the four singles points.

Gulf Coast entertains Itawamba next Tuesday. First serves at the MGCCC Tennis Complex are at 1 p.m.
