Pirates Baseball took the opening game of their series with St. Louis Community College before dropping the final three to move their overall record to 13-33 for the year and 3-25 in Region XVI play. All games were played in St. Louis this past weekend.
Earning the 11-5 win in the first game was sophomore Angel Reyes. He tossed 5 innings allowing just 1 earned run. He also struck out 4 batters and walked 2. Leading the offensive charge was Braedyn Brewer's 4-5 performance, scoring 2 runs. Kendrick Delima went 3-3 with 3 runs and 3 RBIs.
Taking losses in the remaining three games of the series were freshmen Cash Miller, Clayton Bailey, and Brandin Hallier.
Delima broke the school record for home runs in a season by knocking a solo shot game two on Friday. His total is now 11 for the season. He leads the 2019 Pirates in home runs (11), RBIs (42), and OPS (1.188).
Also having a nice weekend at the plate was Chris Hunter. He went 4-9 while scoring 4 runs and driving in 2.
The Pirates next action will be a road matchup with Park University JV on Wednesday.
