Catonsville, MD- Cardinals get the Win!
The Cardinals went up to Harford Community College and beat the Fighting Owls 97-78. Kevin Makle led the team with 22 points, John McNeal wasn't far behind scoring 19. Kim Brown Jr., Makle, and McNeal all finished the game with a triple-double. Tamaron Hargett and McNeal also lead the team with two steals. The bench of the Cardinals also contributed 19 points towards the win.
Aaron Massey, Hargett, and McNeal, all led the team with eight points in the first half. Throughout the first, the game was close with either team taking a huge lead. The Cardinals largest lead was eight points, however, the Owls kept making runs to keep the game becoming out of reach. At the end of the first, the Cardinals led by three, 46-43.
Makle scored 16 of his 22 points in the second half, also grabbing six of his 10 rebounds. The Cardinals in the second half finished shooting 53.8% defending the Owls who shot 34.2%. The turning point was when the Cardinals went on a few scoring runs, while the Owls couldn't knock down a shot. With the Cardinals largest lead being 21 points.
The Cardinals finished the game shooting 53.5% from the field, also on the defensive side, holding the Owls to shooting 36.8%. The Cardinals completed the game with a 27 plus advantage in rebounds, 50 compared to the Owl's 23, which resulted in the Cardinals having 15-second chance points.
UP NEXT: The Cardinals (6-20, 3-10 conf.) will travel down south to Virginia to face the Northern Virginia Community College Nighthawks (9-16) on Wednesday, February 26th at 7 P.M. and continue to keep the winning pace going.
