Tri-C Men's Basketball Snaps Losing Streak, Defeats Lorain, 88-73

The Tri-C men's basketball team ended their two-game skid with a convincing 88 – 73 victory over the Lorain County Community College Commodores.  The game was the second half of a doubleheader at the Metro gym during Marion Sterling School Night on 7 Dec 2022.

The balanced scoring attack was spearheaded by Manny Hill as he posted 16 points to go along with his 6 assists.  Tallice Landers was the only other double-digit scorer with 12 but two other Tops, Donovan Coffey and Dave Nolen, pitched in with eight points each. The Tops were a bit sluggish at the start but begin to establish pace and dominance right around the seven-minute mark of the first half and took a commanding 42 – 29 lead into the locker room.

Coach Nixon continues to make the necessary adjustments and the Tops roared in the second half to be up by as many as 20.  Coach Nixon called on some unlikely heroes and they delivered.  Dave Nolen and Mikael Hill both played their best games of the season.  Patrick Gale also maximized his minutes the Tops snapped their two-game skid.

The men return home on Saturday afternoon, December 10th at 3:00 pm to take on the express of Owens Community College at the Metro Gym.  The Express currently sit at 1 -8 and will be looking to upset the good guys. The game is free and open to the public.
