Women’s RedTail Golf Kicks Off Season at Fall Statesmen Invite

The RedTails had their first meet of the 2023-24 season in Oskaloosa at Edmundson Golf Course.
The two-day invite against five teams brought improvement and new school records for the RedTails Women's Golf. On the first day the team score was 342, making that the new school record for the lowest round total. The team shot an overall total of 691, setting another new record for a two-day total. For the team's individual scores, Chase Doland shot a total of 163, Olivia Hammel 173, Libby Larkin 179, Lauren Funk 189, and Bailey Nuss 194. Individual Calli Thome shot a total of 212.
Head coach Micah Destival had some positive words to say after the two-day invite.
"The women played great these two days in Oskaloosa, we knocked 33 shots off the school record on day one and then followed it up with an excellent score of 349 in round two," he said. "This is a much improved team that I think can realistically shoot around 320-330 after tidying up a few things and we're really looking forward to Galena next week!"
The RedTails next matchup will come Tuesday, September 5, at the Eagle Ridge General Golf Course, competing in the Clarke Fall Invite in Galena, Ill. They will be teeing off at 10:00am.
