Wolfpack Sweep Top 4 Spots to Win 4th Invitational

WESTMINSTER, Md. - Behind the top four runners in the race who were seperated by only 45 seconds, the Westmoreland County Community College women's cross country team won its fourth invitational of the season Saturday by taking first at the Lynx Invitational, hosted by Carroll Community College.

Running on a challenging 6K course at Carroll, the Wolfpack turned in another complete performance from the entire team. Winning her fourth individual race was Brooke Bertovich. Last week's USTFCCAA Women's NJCAA Division III Runner of the Week took another title by crossing the finish line in a time of 32:12.58. She was followed closely by three of her teammates, including Olivia Jumper, who was second in a time of 32:32.53.

The top foursome was completed by Anna Rubino, whose time of 32:40.36 was good for third place, and coming in fourth was Nytasha Marteny, who finished in 32:57.13.

Rounding out the Wolfpack runners on the tough course was Molleigh Henderson, who finished ninth (36:49.23), Chelsey Gasparovic, who was 10th (42:23.00), and Morgan Brown (44:02.37), who placed 11th.

Westmoreland, who was ranked second in the nation for the second straight week, is now off from competition for three weeks. The Wolfpack will return to the trails on Saturday, Oct. 31st when they run at Hagerstown Community College in the Region XX Meet.
