Bryant & Stratton College cruised to an 11-1 victory over Brunswick CC on Friday behind a dominant offensive showing and a strong start from Hilary Stevenson in game one.
The Bobcats jumped out early, scoring six runs through the first three innings, including RBI singles from Aurora Kennedy, Tanisha Halvorson, Alyssa Legault, and Anaya Jones. They added five more in the fourth with help from patient at-bats and timely hits, including a two-run single by Ariellah Layton.
Stevenson allowed just one run over five innings while striking out three to earn the win. Selby and Layton each had two hits, while four different players drove in two runs. The Bobcats showed great plate discipline with five walks and aggressive base running, swiping seven total bags. Defensively, they remained clean with no errors and turned a double play to seal the win.
Bryant & Stratton College bounced back from an early deficit to defeat Brunswick CC 9-4 in game two.
After falling behind 2-1 in the third, the Bobcats surged ahead thanks to a two-run inning capped by a home run from Tanisha Halvorson and a groundout RBI from Ariellah Layton. They extended their lead with timely offense in the sixth, including a sacrifice fly by Anaya Jones and a solo shot from Layton.
Jada Kezema went the distance in the circle, allowing four runs on eight hits while striking out four over seven innings. Vivia Ma and Kiara Selby paced the offense with two hits each, while Kennedy, Truelove, and Layton each drove in two runs. The Bobcats displayed patience at the plate with six walks and capitalized on the base paths, swiping seven total bases.
Kiara Selby was a standout performer as Bryant & Stratton College Bobcats cruised past Brunswick CC Dolphins 12-3 in game three, completing the series sweep.
Selby went 3-for-3, including two doubles, while driving in three runs in a dominant second inning where the Bobcats scored nine runs. Vivia Ma, Aurora Kennedy, and Maleia Truelove also contributed to the offensive explosion, with Truelove doubling in a run and Jones adding a hit that drove in another.
Sophia Elderbaum earned the win for the Bobcats, allowing just two runs in three innings of work, while striking out one and walking none. The Bobcats finished the game with 12 hits, showing great patience at the plate with four walks and five stolen bases. Kyla Stevenson's two-run homer in the fifth sealed the victory, while the team's defense remained solid, turning one double play without committing an error.
