The ECCC men's tennis team has an even 6-6 record after a 7-2 loss to Jones College on Tuesday. The win moved Jones College to 13-1 on the season.
"Our team showed some promise today in our doubles play, and our guys played hard," said Warrior head coach Jay Pacelli. "Both Chris [Larance] and Isaac [Santitto] bounced back after some tough opening sets."
Chris Lawrance (York, Australia) and Isaac Santitto (Innisfail, Australia) duked it out at the No. 1 doubles court and picked up a tough 8-5 victory, while Chris Albert (Vicksburg) and Steed Springfield (Vicksburg) fell in a high-effort, close one at No. 3 doubles, 9-7.
In singles action, Lawrance was the only Warrior to grab a win with a great come-from-behind, tiebreaker victory at the No. 1 line.
The Warriors continue their MACCC play this Friday, March 12 as the team travels to Mississippi Gulf Coast to take on the Bulldogs at 1 p.m.
