Moore and Carbonell guide Hawks to victory on Monday
NORFOLK, Neb. – Sophomore Kyla Moore (Norfolk, Neb.) recorded 24 points and Julia Carbonell (Barcelona, Spain) added 18 points as the Northeast Community College women’s basketball team cruised over Morningside College JV, 88-62 on Monday night at the Cox Activities Center in Norfolk.

NORFOLK, Neb. – Sophomore Kyla Moore (Norfolk, Neb.) recorded 24 points and Julia Carbonell (Barcelona, Spain) added 18 points as the Northeast Community College women's basketball team cruised over Morningside College JV, 88-62 on Monday night at the Cox Activities Center in Norfolk.
The Hawks (9-2) took a 46-37 lead heading into halftime and never looked back, while holding the Mustangs to only two points in the final quarter.
Moore also added five assists, four rebounds and four steals, while shooting 9-of-14 from the field. Emina Hadzihusejnovic (Mostar, Bosnia) collected 14 points and six boards. The Hawks shot 58 percent from the field, while holding the Mustangs to just 37 percent shooting.
Northeast welcomes Little Priest Tribal College for a 5 p.m. match-up on Dec. 2 in Norfolk.
