No. 9 Jacksonville tops No. 13 MGCCC

No. 13 Mississippi Gulf Coast ran into a team filled with international players in a non-conference matchup against No. 9 Jacksonville College, falling 8-1.

Seth Macute (Fr., Brisbane, Australia/St Joseph's Nudgee College) picked up the only point for the Bulldogs, winning his No. 1 singles match over Mexico's Miguel Gamborino 6-1, 5-7, 10-6.

He and Wesley Fontaine (So., Biloxi/Biloxi) played a tough No. 1 doubles match before falling 8-6, and Clay Fudge (Fr., Madison/Madison Central) took South African Muntingh Hamman the distance in a 4-6, 6-2, 10-4 loss.

The Bulldogs (13-2), who lead the MACCC with a perfect record in 11 outings, play at Southwest on Wednesday and host Holmes for a doubleheader Thursday.
