Legends Volleyball starts season on the road

The Legends Volleyball team had a great first match, playing one of the top ranked teams from last season.

The Legends traveled to St. Cloud to take on the St. Cloud Technical & Community College Cyclones and won two sets and pushed hard to take the match to a full five sets, but ultimately fell 3-2 on the evening. 

After getting out some jitters in set one losing 15-25, the Legends really came to play posting a 25-22 win in the second set. The Legends took a hard 13-25 loss in set three and posted another 25-19 win in the fourth before falling in the final set 13-15. 

"We learned a lot about ours initial strengths and weaknesses as a team and know the areas of growth focus on moving forward," said Head Coach Mitch McGuire. "I'm super proud of how the girls played tonight and we can't wait to see them continue to improve."

Morgan Orbeck (Melrose) had a standout game with 16 kill sand 7 digs. 

Defensive specialist Paige Davis played a strong defensive game with 28 digs, while Kailey Fischer put up 39 assists.
