Vikings finish 2nd in the MFC / Advance to NJCAA Region 8 playoffs
Palatka, FL. The Vikings baseball team clinched a state playoff berth yesterday with a 10-0 win over Daytona State. The Vikings finished the regular season with a 29-26 overall record and a 17-13 record in Mid-Florida Conference play. The Vikings finished the season with 4 straight wins to finish 1 game over Seminole State (16-14) and 2 games over Santa Fe College (15-15). The College of Central Florida won the conference championship.
The top 2 teams from each of the 4 conferences in the state advance to the playoffs. By reaching the postseason once again, the Vikings have reached the postseason in 7 of the last 12 years.
The Vikings will hit the road next week for a 3 game series at Chipola College in the first round of the FCSAA State Tournament / NJCAA Region 8 Championships on May 5th & 6th. Game 1 will be played Friday at 6 pm and Game 2 on Saturday at 2 pm. The if necessary game 3 will start 6 pm following the conclusion of game 2.
