Men's Basketball Falls To Bismarck St, Beats Bay College

The Anoka-Ramsey Men's Basketball team fell to Bismarck State 78-68 on Saturday night before rebounding with a 75-62 win over Bay College Sunday.

The Golden Rams only trailed by three at halftime against the Bismarck St Mystics after trailing by as many as ten in the first half.

The second half was a different story however with the Mystics building a 21 point lead with six minutes left after an extended drought from the Golden Rams.

Anoka-Ramsey hit just 30 of 83 field goal attempts (36.1 percent) and only 5 of 29 threes (17.2 percent) in the loss.

Jacob Say had 14 points.  Josiah Remus-Ford (10) and Anthony Baker (10) also scored in double figures.

On Sunday, Anoka-Ramsey outscored Bay by ten in the second half to pull away for the win.

The two teams traded leads early in the game before 11-2 run by Anoka-Ramsey gave them a six point edge.  The Norse responded by scoring the next seven to retake the lead, and Anoka-Ramsey would go up by three to end the first half.

Anoka-Ramsey led 48-47, but went on a 15-0 run over a six minute stretch to give themselves a cushion.  Bay would get no closer than 13 the rest of the way.

The Golden Rams shot 47.6 percent overall and made 8 of 16 threes.

Bay shot 39 percent and committed 19 turnovers.

Devin Wade-Henderson (13) and Isaiah Woodstock (13) led Anoka-Ramsey in scoring with Elijah Mean (11) and Ontario Chapman (11) right behind.

Anthony Baker had nine rebounds, and Ousseynou Ngom had five blocked shots, providing energy off the bench.

Anoka-Ramsey enters the holiday break at 6-5 overall and will travel south of the cities December 29-30 for games at Dakota County Tech.
