Erie Community Collge Baseball split their two game set with Monroe Community College on Thursday. Game one saw the Kats down the Tribunes 4-1.
Nolan Evans pitched Erie to victory. The southpaw surrendered zero runs on two hits over six innings, striking out three and walking zero. Tyson Kovats threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen. Grayson Giddings, Tyler Kerl, Nathan Kinder, Carter Whitehead, and D'Artagnan Van Duseneach collected one hit to lead the Kats. Erie didn't commit a single error in the field. Kerl had 13 chances in the field, the most on the team.
Erie fell behind early in game two and couldn't come back in a 5-3 loss. Sam Calcaterra was on the hill for Erie. Calcaterra lasted four innings, allowing four hits and four runs while striking out five. Tyler Noel and Moritz Joedicke entered the game as relief, throwing two innings and one inning respectively. Ladislaus Landwehr went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Erie in hits.
Erie is right back at it on Friday with a double header vs. Monroe College.
