PERKINSTON --- The Holmes Community College Bulldogs battled hard here Monday night and trailed Mississippi Gulf Coast by only two at half, but the Gulf Coast Bulldogs pulled away in the second half to take the Region XXIII Second Round game, 92-72.
The Bulldogs ended the season at 11-13.
Gulf Coast led 37-35 at halftime and then outscored the Holmes Bulldogs, 55-37, in the second half to pull out the win.
Jordan Brister led the Bulldogs with 18 points while Tyler Talley had 15, Jourdain Dishmond had 12 and Darrius Clark had 10. Clark led the Bulldgos with 10 rebounds while Eric Green had seven.
Holmes shot 41.3 percent from the floor (26-of-63) and 34.5 percent from the three-point line (10-of-29).
