Game 1 (IRSC 12 Gulf Coast 4)

In the first game on a cold Friday afternoon in Clearwater against state ranked Gulf Coast State College the Pioneers jumped out to an early lead and captured a 13-4 victory. The game was decided quickly as Pioneers offense came alive and scored 11 runs in the first three innings.

Stefany Collins had two extra-base hits for Pioneers. Hailey Andrews got the win striking out nine batters in her six innings of work in the circle.  The Pioneers hitters combined for 19 hits, 12 RBIs.

 

Game 2 (IRSC 6 Illinois Central 0)

In the team's second game on Friday the Pioneers squared off against NJCAA D2 #5 nationally ranked Illinois Central. 

In the 6-0m win Pioneers sophomore 3rd baseman Meghan Riddle went a perfect 2-2 at the plate. She doubled in the first inning and singled in the fourth inning.

Sophomore pitchers Auria Mounts and Hailey Andrews put together a nice outing. ICC managed just two hits off of Mounts, who allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out five during her 4 2/3 innings of work.

Game 3 (IRSC 6 Gordon State 4)

On Saturday morning the Lady Pioneers won a close extra inning game against Gordon State College.

Sophomore 3rd baseman Meghan Riddle came off the bench and delivered a game winning two run double.  Riddle's double scored Jaci Atkinson and Auria Mounts and Pioneers hung on to beat Gordon State 6-4 on Saturday.

Savannah Julylia reached base three times in the game for Pioneers. She singled in the third and seventh innings.

Game 4 (IRSC4 ABAC 2)

In the team's fourth game of the weekend the Pioneers survived ABAC's rally and escaped  with 4-2 victory.

Auria Mounts got it done in the circle on the way to a win. She allowed two runs over 5 2/3 innings. Mounts struck out two, walked two and gave up five hits.

Pioneers didn't relinquish the lead after scoring one run in the third inning when it scored on an RBI double by Michalyn Bingham.

Pioneers tacked on another two runs in the sixth. A clutch hit into a fielder's choice scored Meghan Riddle to open the scoring in the frame. That was followed up by Stefany Collins's double, bringing home Mounts.

Game 5 (IRSC 9 TCC1)

In the final game off the weekend the Lady Pioneers played their best game of the weekend winning 9-1 against TCC.

The Pioneers came out swinging, scoring four runs in the first inning to jump ahead of TCC early.

Meghan Riddle racked up four RBIs on three hits for Pioneers. She doubled in the first and second innings and singled in the fourth inning.

Hailey Andrews recorded the win for Pioneers. She allowed one run over five innings. Andrews struck out five, walked one and gave up three hits.

Pioneers got two-run rallies in the fourth inning and the fifth. In the fourth, Pioneers scored on an RBI single by Riddle, bringing home Kaley Hinds.

Pioneers tacked on another two runs in the fifth. Hinds started the inning with a single, plating Stefany Collins. That was followed up by Lindsee Howard's single, scoring Morgan Greco.

 

The team returns to action on Friday in Ft. Pierce against #3 nationally ranked Florida Southwestern.  Game times are at 1:00 and 3:00.
