Eagles Defeat Piedmont for Second Straight Time

Oxford, GA - The Emory Oxford women's tennis team claimed their second straight victory over the Lions of Piedmont University. The Eagles improve to 3-2 for the season.

In doubles play, the Eagles claimed two out of the three matches with wins on courts two and three. Sophomore duo Joanna Wu and Lara Crosby defeated their opponents 8-2 in second doubles, while freshmen Allie Lucky and Lily McCain also won 8-2. 

The Eagles continued their dominance in singles play, winning on four out of the six courts in straight sets. Freshman Irene Wang won on court one 6-4, 6-3. On court two, Wu defeated her opponent 6-2, 6-3. On courts three and four, both Crosby and McCain claimed a victory for the Eagles, winning 6-0, 6-2 and 6-2, 6-0. 

"I am proud of how my girls are continuing to improve and how they played today," mentioned Coach Pernilla Hardin. "Their hard work in practices has been paying off."

The Eagles will play Central Alabama Community College on Saturday, October 2nd. Matches will start at 1:00 PM.
