NCMC Women’s Golf Finishes 5th at Rockhurst

The North Central Missouri College women's golf team got their fall tournament schedule underway on Wednesday and Thursday in Kansas City, MO to compete in the Rockhurst Fall Invitational held at Swope Memorial Golf Course. The Pirates finished in 5th place with a 36-hole total of 874. Missouri Southern State swept the Men and Women's team titles at the event.

Lexi Hutton led the Pirate charge for the event posting a 100 on Wednesday and a 102 on Thursday for a two day tally of 202 and a 29th place finish for the tournament. Haley Baskett and Kennedy Dickerson shot twin scores of 105 in round one and shot identical scores of 107 in the final round to finish T30th at the event. Brianna Filley rounded out the Pirate scoring with a 36-hole total of 248 and finishing in 35th place.

"I was very proud of the girl's effort leading up to this event and even though it wasn't our best performance we had a lot of positives to take away from the tournament. Ball striking for everyone was very consistent and short game was solid for this event. They will be the first to tell someone that they had a couple bad holes each round to keep them away from posting a solid number. I expect their play to sharpen up and only get better these next couple weeks as we transition into the meat of our fall schedule.

The NCMC Women's golf now have a quick turnaround as they hit the road next week on September 8-9 to compete in the Peru State Fall Invitational held at Table Creek Golf Course in Nebraska City, NE.
