Trojans Host Bobcats at Jim Randall Stadium
This week, the Trojans are back at the friendly confines of Jim Randall Stadium but are hosting the undefeated and number four nationally ranked Jones Community College Bobcats, 7-0, MACCC South 5-0. They are number one in the South division. This deep in the season, the Trojans are battling the injury bug with several staring players nursing ankle injuries but Head Coach Tavares Johnson Sr isn't looking to make any excuses. He's working his team and trying to build consistency and cut down on mistakes.
"We'll rock on from there," Coach Johnson said. "It will be a great chance for us to take out a great team and give them their first loss. It happens every year. It's a dog-eat-dog conference. We're just trying to put our players in the best position to be successful. One of our mottos is 'you can't score if you don't have the ball.' I'm trying to take pressure off everyone and put it on me. We'll keep chopping wood. We're playing for more than our schedule. We're playing for our pride."
Coach Johnson wants to "take the pressure" off his players by mixing up his schemes a bit and finding a rhythm on offense.
