Holmes defeats Hinds, 87-75

GOODMAN ---The Holmes Community College Bulldogs went to 2-2 on the season here Thursday night with an 87-75 win over the Hinds Community College Bulldogs.

Holmes hosts East Central on Monday at 7:30 p.m. in a Military Appreciation Night game. The Bulldogs then hosts Baton Rouge on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. The games can be watched live at holmesccmedia.com/white-channel or on Roku or Amazon Fire TV by searching for Holmes Community College.

Holmes used a hot-shooting night to defeat Hinds. Holmes shot 56 percent from the floor in the game including 61.9 percent from the three-point line and 64.3 percent from the free throw line. Holmes had 13 made three-pointers in the contest including four from Jaylen Lester and three from Tyler Talley.

Holmes led 42-27 at halftime, and Hinds outscored Holmes 48-45 in the second half.

Kaleb Higgins led the Bulldogs with 18 points while Tyler Williams had 13, Lester 12, Jamarrion Brown 11 and Talley 10. Higgins had eight rebounds and 10 assists in the contest for a double-double.
